:: Research Theme/Focus

• Developmental biology, genomics-proteomics, stem cell biology, and tissue engineering with special emphasis on the causes, prevention, and treatment of craniofacial and dental deformities.

:: Objective

• Strengthen the research infrastructure at BCD by partnering closely with research scientists primarily at the IBT as well as clinician scientists at affiliated hospitals and research centers.   

:: Strategy

• Recruit at least 3 outstanding research-oriented faculty members who will be based at BCD but who will collaborate closely with IBT scientists.
• Support research collaborations between BCD and IBT faculty in order to take advantage of the most advanced methods of modern biomedical research related to developmental-molecular biology; genetics and genetic engineering; bioinformatics; and epidemiology.
